REMEMBER ALWAYS
Remember always, your mission is to serve and protect.
Remember always, all of us are different in some ways. Appearance in and to itself does not always determine whether a person is good or bad, so treat everyone as equals until proven otherwise.
Remember always, to be a role model most especially to the young -- and yes, to those who have been taught to fear and hate "cops."
Remember always, to be cautious and wary in protecting yourself and the honor of our profession.
Remember always, to check your equipment and admonish your brothers and sisters in law enforcement to do likewise.
Remember always, weapons are always loaded and every suspect is armed.
Remember always, to report violations of laws or ethics to the proper authorities.
Remember always, to obey supervisors, but also to report any act or abuse of authority.
Remember always, most persons are frightened to death when there is an act of violence, or a crime whether they are a witness or victim. They are not like "copes" who are trained to be professional and witness daily tragic events in our society.
Remember always, when you leave for your shift to tell those you care for "I love you."
Remember always, you are an agent and protector of our great U.S. Constitution and you are sworn to respect, uphold and protect at all costs.
Remember always, you have a duty to return home safely to your family and loved ones after another day or night protecting the public from the bad and sometimes the terribly ugly members of society.
Remember always, to be strong -- you, your brothers and sisters are the only thin human line that protects our democracy and system of justice, "the guilty from the innocent" and "the innocent form the guilty."
Remember always, to be careful out there on the street and "always" return home safely.
Dedicated to all Law Enforcement Officers...the peace makers of society, a most noble calling. "Many are called, few are chosen."
